Interests

J. H. Mackey’s interests include telling stories (from snippets to vast epics), history, international politics, business (particularly detrimental innovations), sociology, human myth making, futurology, medical research, interesting museums and exhibitions, beautiful gardens and nature spots, top quality musicals or theatre, good drama and murder mysteries, healthy delicious food and fine wine.

J. H. Mackey was born in this house.

Life

Soon after J. H. Mackey was born in leafy Twickenham in London, her parents immigrated to Australia, where they settled in the Adelaide foothills.

As a young child, she lived a country life, but the city and the sea were always in view from her home. Now, after living in many different locations of Australia and travelling widely in the world, she has returned to live in England.

Jane is deaf to soft high pitch voices, and she sometimes suffers from PTSD and anxiety, due to some trauma earlier in her life.

Education

University of Cambridge ANU Alumni, 2009 International Program Cambridge: Past, Present and Future. 

During this program Jane stayed in Madingley Hall, the private residence of Queen Victoria’s son Edward 7th while he was a student at Cambridge.

University of Oxford, Exeter College, 2007 Creative Writing Residential Summer Program. 

While at Exeter College, Jane resided in the room Tolkien had when he was a student at Oxford.

University of Oxford, various online writing courses.

1990-1995 Australian Post Graduate Research Award for Masters/PHD studies.

BHP-Swinburne Institute Fellow Of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Education.  

Canberra College Of Advanced Education, Graduate Diploma In Education.

Jane received a letter of congratulations for her outstanding results from the Head of School and the Board of Examiners.

Australian National University, Bachelor Of Arts. 

Jane commenced her studies as a Law Degree, but later changed to major in Fine Arts. During her studies, she was invited to be a student representative on several University Boards and Committees, such as the ANU Creative Arts Fellow Advisory Committee.

Canberra Technical College, Day Matriculation

Jane achieved 5 First Levels and received an award for being the top student of the academic year, subsequently she was offered a place in 2 different Law Schools.
